The journey home after a wine tasting is often hard. Luckily a few winemakers not only know how to make good wine, but also how to welcome guests.

When the leaves on the trees turn rust-red then there’s nothing better than a walk through the vineyards, then join a winemaker for a winetasting. Wine tourism is a global trend and Switzerland plays its role there very well. With 6 regions and 250 different grape varieties we have a great diversity to offer. In order to promote wine tourism Schweiz Tourismus has selected 30 special wine experiences.

Not only in Switzerland are guests pleased when after visiting a wine producer they don’t have to worry about finding their way home. A bed in (or at) the vineyard? We present here winemakers who know how to make their guests happy…

Rheinland-Pfalz: stay overnight at the former Royal Prussian Wine Domain

The setting sun sets the vineyards on fire: the Nahe flows orange-red and the last rays of the sun are reflected in the copper cladding of the stylish new press house at Gut Hermannsberg. The former Royal Prussian Wine Domain in the area of Bad Kreuznach in Rheinland-Pfalz has been in private hands for almost a decade. Now top quality dry Riesling wines are produced here. After a winetasting in the Vinothek you can look forward to a charming room in the former director’s house.
