Sekt / Sparkling Wine

As Gut Hermannsberg’s co-director Achim Kirchner often says, “Sekt or sparkling wine used to be our hobby, but the demand and production grew so much that it’s now a serious business!” We are part of a general trend towards high quality Champagne method sparkling wine production in Germany. We see no theoretical or practical reason why Germany cannot produce sparkling wines every bit as good as those of Champagne. However, as much as we love good Champagnes, at Gut Hermannsberg we don’t want to imitate them rather we are developing our own totally distinct style.
