Today the great majority of grapes are machine picked and any wine that’s on the supermarket shelf for a low price has definitely been 100% machine picked. However, around the world leading producers like Gut Hermannsberg continue to handpick all their vineyards. It is not only more expensive, but also more time-consuming and not anyone can do, particularly on our steep vineyards with their stony soils!
