Theodor Heuss

The first President of the Federal Republic of Germany (1949-59) was a fan of the Riesling wines from Gut Hermannsberg and visited the estate several times. He played an important role in establishing modern Germany as a peaceful, liberal and democratic state and for gaining both international acceptance and recognition of that new status.
