Sustainability is often a form of certification for wineries (also for farmers of all kinds) that tells you that they followed a set of rules the goal of which is to protect the health of the soil and the environment in general. However, for Gut Hermansberg and a good number of other leading wineries around the world it is a continuous process of assessing and reassessing the impact on the soil and environment of everything we do in the vineyards, the cellar and the entire property. Our goal is that in every respect it should be passed on to the next generation of the Reidel family in a better condition than when they acquired it in 2009. We receive support from the EU and the German state of Rhineland Pfalz for our sustainable practices.
