Felsenberg

Sandwiched between rugged cliffs of volcanic melaphry and the Nahe river the steep slope of the Felsenberg VDP Grosse Lage / “Grand Cru” is a Riesling “greenhouse”. Gut Hermannsberg dry GG wines from here share a smoky aroma with those of the neighboring Kupfergrube site, but tend more towards exotic fruit aromas and a richer texture. Picking here is usually earlier than for the GG from the Kupfergrube in order to avoid opulence. Because we own slightly less than 1 hectare / 2.5 acres here this GG is very limited.
